| Ambulance – 2 Nos.(1
Normal & 1 Fully Air Conditioned Mobile
ICCU Ambulance) |
The ambulance, which
is a Mobile Critical Care Unit, provides the
patient, the same care as would be available
in any well-equipped intensive care unit,
during his/her transit to the hospital. Designed
along the lines of the modern hi-tech ambulances,
it has all the fitments for an emergency unit
including a two -way communication system.
It is manned by a Doctor and trained para-
medical personnel. A telescopic stretcher,
which doubles as a trolley, minimizes the
transfer of the patient. Special shock absorbers
allow for a smooth journey. Moreover, the
unit being air-conditioned, it provides maximum
comfort to the patient while traveling.

A
brief look at each of these unique facilities:-
The Mobile Critical Care Team -
A doctor, trained in Intensive Care, will
always be on board. To assist him with the
patient, will be a male nurse and a wardboy,
apart from the driver, who would also help
in the shifting of the patient.
Ventilator
This is a breathing machine. It supplies oxygen
to all patients, whether adults, or children.
Defibrillator
This is used to shock a diseased heart to
normal.
Suction machine
To take out secretions (sputum) from the lungs.
Emergency kit
This is a light - weight aluminum suitcase,
containing all emergency drug equipment and
infusions (drips). It is carried to the house
of the patient, to start emergency treatment,
on the spot.
Two-way Communication System
The unit is equipped with a wireless system,
to provide for communication between the hospital
and the mobile care unit and vice versa. This
is to help provide information, regarding
the patient, to the hospital authorities,
so that various specialists could be kept
ready for the patient.
Expert advice could
also be sought from various specialists, as
the patient is being transported to the hospital.
